What is AI invoicing?
AI invoicing means letting an AI assistant handle the repetitive parts of billing (creating clients, drafting invoices, generating the PDF and sending it) while you describe what you want in plain language.
Invco does this with a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Connect it to Claude with a personal API key from Settings → MCP access, and your assistant can work in your Invco account directly, using your own saved templates, without you filling in a form.
What can Claude do in Invco?
Claude can create clients and invoices, generate PDFs on your templates, set statuses and email invoices for you. Once Invco's MCP server is connected, you can ask: "Create an invoice for Northwind Traders — the June retainer of $650 plus the website milestone of $2,400 — on my Modern template, and email it." Claude creates the invoice, generates the PDF on that template and sends it from your address.
- Create, update and delete clients and invoices by chat
- Generate PDFs on your saved custom templates
- Create or update templates from a description
- Mark invoices sent or paid, and list what's overdue
- Email invoices to clients from your own address
- Switch between your companies mid-conversation
Why does MCP matter for invoicing?
MCP is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to real tools and data. Because Invco exposes its features through MCP, Claude isn't scraping a screen or guessing. It calls Invco's own actions, with a key you can revoke at any time.
That means invoices on your real templates, with your real client data, sent from your real email address, and every action happens only when you ask for it.
Who is AI invoicing for?
AI invoicing in Invco suits two groups of people. If you already work with Claude day to day, AI invoicing folds billing into your existing workflow instead of adding another app to check. If you run more than one company, Claude can switch between them and bill from the right one.
AI invoicing is included on every plan, like every other Invco feature, from $10 a month.
Frequently asked questions
How does Invco's AI invoicing work?
Invco includes a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. You connect it to Claude with a personal API key, then ask Claude in plain English to create clients, generate invoices on your templates, set statuses and email them. Claude performs those actions in your Invco account directly.
Which AI assistants are supported?
Any assistant that supports MCP can connect. Invco is designed and tested with Claude, and the connection works on a free Claude plan.
Is AI invoicing secure?
Access is granted through a personal API key scoped only to your own account, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings → MCP access. Your clients, templates and financial data are never visible to other users, and the AI only performs the actions you ask for.
Is AI auto-invoicing free?
There's no free plan, but AI invoicing through the Claude (MCP) integration is included on every plan, from $10 a month, with a full refund within 7 days.
